The Alvarez Pari lab is interested in developing new synthetic strategies for accelerating chemical synthesis for the development of pharmaceuticals using accessible building blocks.
Making catalysis more efficient, accessible and sustainable. We are interested in pursuing projects related to sustainable catalysis to address outstanding challenges in bond-forming reactions. We will be exploring new concepts in catalysis at the interface of organic and main group chemistry with the goal of addressing global challenges in sustainability and health.
Organic electrosynthesis has sparked significant interest within the broader organic chemistry community.
A particular focus of our group’s research is based on the generation of novel reactive intermediates and exceptional selectivity through electrochemistry. Our research group is also interested in introducing reaction mechanisms inherent to organic electrochemistry to provide simple, elegant and greener alternative solutions that can be adopted for large-scale industrial manufacturing.
Within our group, we apply fundamental science with a strong emphasis on green chemistry. We are particularly focused on the synergistic cooperation between photochemistry and main group chemistry to develop new chemical reactions and unlock new chemical space.
